This is a unique photo. There aren’t many tombstone photos in the Burgert collection, so this one stood out. Buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in downtown, the McNabbs are likely father and son. The tombstone on the right reads: Malcolm Donald McNabb, Son of Malcolm and Catherine McNabb. "Suffer little children to come unto me and [forbid] them not for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven." The son died in November of 1858, and the father died in December of that same year.

McNabb senior’s headstone reads, “In Memory of Malcomb McNabb Born June 22, 1818, Died Dec 1, 1858, Aged 40 years, 5 Months. "This stone was placed here by his disconsolate widow who, with their children, mourn the loss of a good husband, a good father, and a good Christian citizen. The Burgert photo was taken in July of 1951. In 2021, the epitaphs are difficult to read and the elder McNabb’s stone is broken and on the ground.
